Vogue’s New Suffragettes: “Fight Against Stereotyping Women Is Harder Than Battle For The Vote”

A century ago, they secured votes for women with their eloquent campaigning and shock tactics, undergoing hunger strike and, in the case of Emily Davison, early death for their cause.

The legacy of the suffragettes is to be honoured by Vogue magazine, as they declare their own “New Suffragettes” fit for 2018.

Vogue_editedSeven women, including campaigners, bloggers, artists and politicians, have been selected in recognition of the “fight to empower women in the battle for equality that rages on”, as one declares  the struggle to change “people’s inner stereotypes of women” even harder than fighting for the vote.
