About us
Mission
The LaRuelist Report offers positive news stories, public policy issues, and event announcements
that will help the greater communities connect with each other one person at a time.
Background
This site began in 2000 when a small group of African Americans organized into the Black
Executive Network. Fifteen individuals participated on a humble listserv and moved information
about seminars, networking events, and policy around in cyberspace by forwarding e-mails to friends
and colleagues. That list of fifteen grew to 50 people within a month and then to 1,000 people
within a year.
To date, the LaRuelist Report database has reached 10,000 people and is diverse on a socio-economic,
ethnic, gender, and age perspective. While the majority of subscribers are based in New Jersey,
Philadelphia,
and the Greater New York areas, LaRuelist subscribers are literally all over the world.
